If You Want It
I suck at this. I know. I'm officially taking two weeks off from sucking at this to finish a script that hopefully doesn't suck.

Hot Fun
On Friday night Ricky and I went to see Hunx and His Punx at the Troubadour - featuring Seth from Gravy Train!!!! Looking back it makes me feel so old to remember The Knock-Ups playing at Punks with Presses or his Michael Jackson tribute band, Dangerous, performing in an Oakland warehouse.
I shot some video of the show with my Flip which did not fare well in converting to a small enough file for YouTube but I edited the best parts together. Seth was hilarious as always and I don't know who that tranny with the tambourine is but I LOVES.
They opened for The Donnas who I first saw perform at the Santa Cruz Vets Hall in 1998(?). Allison and Maya attended UCSC for a minute and my friend Natalia and I left a note outside their dorm room that said "you're the coolest in the school" or something cheesy like that. We all ended up hanging out once and they smoked a lot of pot and listened to heavy metal which is exactly how I would have pictured it.
Saturday we went to Space 15 Twenty for the release celebration of Lauren Dukoff's book Family which features photos of Devendra Banhart, Little Joy, and others. The Urban Outfitters facilitated happening was overflowing with all kinds of crazy L.A. hippies!
Dave had a field day photographing all the random styles amongst Devendra's followers including an abnormally high hot pants count. He captured this trippy image of Devendra's performance and I think all the far-out vibes got to Ricky and Christopher...
BEFORE
AFTER
Sunday we went to the Santa Monica farmer's market and got the best heirloom tomatoes ever!
The rest of my day was spent figuring out iMovie so I can make my turning 30 project finally happen! Speaking of, I leave you with the following insight from the Sunday NY Times...
“Sometimes I hear people say, ‘She’s totally changed,’ ” she said, “and it’s like, uh, if you’re a 16-year-old girl and you don’t change, there’s something wrong with you. I’m still learning every single day. I’ll probably be learning every day until I’m 30.”

We Used to Dream
Dear Bryan,
I turned 30 a few months ago. I copied you and went to New York. Good call. I wish I could make you a mix CD for your birthday again. The cover would definitely look like this! and I'd put "Young Hearts Spark Fire" by Japandroids on it because I think you'd love that song or maybe you'd say you "can't dance to that depressing shit." Either way, you'd be here.
We used to dream
Now we worry about dying
I don't wanna worry about dying
I just wanna worry about those sunshine girls
Well you can keep tomorrow
After tonight we're not gonna need it
